River guide, gourmet chef, baijiu enthusiast, and overall the most interesting man in China (based on a scientific poll of other raft guides), Tang Jiangzhong has helped to pioneer commercial wilderness and multi-day rafting in Western China. Nicknaned Lao Tang (wise elder), Tang Jiangzhong has dedicated years of his life to bringing Chinese kids on river trips in Yunnan, Sichuan, Tibet, and Qinghai with Last Descents River Expeditions, as well as founding a kayaking club in his home town of Kunming in Yunnan.
