Kirkland, WA Feb 8, 2011Canoe & Kayak magazine announced today it has formed a new cross-promotional partnership with the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT). The two organizations will work together to exchange information and exposure across multiple platforms. The NFCT’s 1,000+ members will receive subscriptions to the magazine.

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a 740 mile inland paddling trail tracing historic travel routes across New York, Vermont, Québec, New Hampshire, and Maine. NFCT connects people to the Trail’s natural environment, human heritage, and contemporary communities by stewarding, promoting, and providing access to canoe and kayak experiences along this route.

Editor Jeff Moag said, “Canoe and Kayak shares a common goal with the NFCT-helping people to experience the beauty of our rivers, lakes and oceans. We’re thrilled to work with Rob, Kay and the dozens of dedicated paddlers who have made the trail a shining example for the rest of the country.”

Kate Williams, Executive Director at NFCT, remarked “Canoe & Kayak plays a key role in building the broader paddling community, so we are honored to partner with them to integrate the NFCT story into this community.”

“After speaking with the NFCT, it was clear we both felt our organizations were a force for growing the sport of paddling. We decided if we combined forces, we could get more people on the water,” said Jim Marsh, Publisher of “Canoe & Kayak. “And being a sponsor of the trail feels great.”
