Caught on Film: Big Reds on Top (and Everywhere Else)
Hobie kayak pro Brandon Barton’s two-fisted redfish frenzy
By Paul Lebowitz
Caught on Film is a weekly video series featuring fresh footage from you, our fishing friends. Please send us your best and biggest, fresh or saltwater, hook, hoopnet or harpoon, fumbles, fortunes and one-that-got-aways. We’ll select a new clip each week and award each winner with a one-year subscription to the magazine or something else cool pulled from our prize closet. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Redfish is one of my favorite fish to target whether it be chasing big reds on topwater here in the bay and Intercoastal Waterway in my home of Pensacola or heading over to the marshes of Louisiana and fishing for them in the best place in the world. Redfish are always hungry in Cajun country,” Brandon Barton says of these clips of two-fisted redfish frenzy.
Who is Brandon Barton, besides a skilled redfish wrangler? He’s a tournament angler, a member of the Hobie fishing team, and an avid member of the Gulf Coast Kayak Fishing Association. He makes plenty of cool kayak fishing videos too, available on his YouTube channel. Why? It’s best in his own words.
“I just love sharing my love for kayak fishing with the world. My goal in making videos is to show the fun and turn more people onto it,” Barton says.
