Hobie Fishing World Championship Headed for Amsterdam
By Paul Lebowitz
The fourth annual Hobie Fishing World Championship will take place a hop across the big Atlantic pond in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, October 6 to 10, 2014. Hobie representatives expect anglers will converge from over 20 countries to battle for the Hobie fishing crown.
It will be the AFWC’s first trip to Europe. Like last year, contested in Australia, competitors will fish from identically rigged Hobie Pro Anglers – this time in 12s. It is a traditional CPR event based on aggregated length, three fish per day over three tournament days.
Are you a hotshot pike, zander and yellow perch hooker? North American anglers will have five chances to battle their way onto Hobie’s fishing team. Four are well known, existing tournaments. The Hobie Bass Open is a new one launched by the company itself. Hobie will award a $1,500 travel allowance to the winner.
