The best fishing video magazine in the paddle sports world has done it again with the debut of KFVM6, mixing high productions values with on the water guerilla photography from some of the top kayak fishermen - and women - across the globe.
The latest issue of Kayak Fish Video Magazine starts with the great work of the AFTCO FILMS crew as they bring to life The Sailsman, a beach-launched quest via SUP to catch a sailfish. Along the way some brilliant underwater footage of a dolphinfish (dorado, mahi-mahi) threatens to steal the show. In the end the target species appears and offshore success is near.
Next up Robert Field, Matt Scotch of Lone Star Kayak Guide, Guillermo Gonzales and Connie Growden head out on the Brazos River in Texas for some hot summertime bass fishing. An accomplished kayaker, Growden catches her first fish on the trip spent Bassin’ the Brazos, at least after she masters the hookset!
REDemption Awaits as Chris Funk and his son Ethan head out from Alabama to the St. Mark’s River in Florida with one thing in mind: finding Ethan a big redfish and dispel the curse that has been beating him like a drum (a red drum that is).
Then Robert Field is back with what brung him to the kayak fishing video party -- fishing for sharks from a plastic boat! Robert has gained a ton of experience fishing sharks since the first time he paddled out into the Gulf of Mexico with grinners on his mind and he offers his knowledge in the episode Shark Fishing 101.
The search for knowledge continues and Jeff Little and his son Cooper don mask and snorkel and dip beneath the surface of a Susqehanna River rapid in Snorkeling for Forage and literally turn up a wealth of tasty smallmouth bass forage.
Matching the hatch, young Cooper gets after the bronzebacks in his kayak!
Our favorite master of the culinary arts of the South, Chef Chris Funk goes to the grill armed with fresh Gulf shrimp, bacon, jalapeño and a good dose of Creole seasoning to literally wrap things up with another mouth-watering recipe, Bacon Wrapped Creole Shrimp.
Kayak Fish Video Magazine is sponsored by Bending Branches, Old Town Canoes and Kayaks, Wilderness Systems, NRS, Ocean Kayak and Jackson Kayak.
