Kayak Fish readers got a sneak peek as we tested the VMC 7237 and 7266 inline hooks in the Spring issue--they're just now being released. Designed to make the release process less dangerous for both the fish and the angler, these VMC hooks finally provide a simple solution for easily switching from trebles to single hooks without having to add a second split ring, or worrying about whether the lure will track as designed after the alteration. The good news is that a more corrosion-resistant model is being offered in addition to the black nickel version for saltwater use. Cyrille Mathieu explains the concept behind the hooks' development.
