CHECK OUT THOSE PEEPERS!These are unique enough to warrant a standalone review. To be honest, I was not a big sunglass-wearer until I tried these. Now I wear them a lot. The combination of compact size (fits in the palm of your hand), superior lens quality, and general comfort made me a convert. Since I tried them, I've taken them on hikes, dozens of paddling outings, and use them for everything from driving to an afternoon bike ride. I have really tested these.
Their claim to fame is that they are more portable than standard sunglasses and cases. The cunningly-engineered pop-out design allows the glasses to separate between the lenses, nest together and fit in a hard case that stuffs easily in a pocket. What really sold me was the quality of the optics— lenses made by Zeiss out of nylon for unequalled clarity and minimal weight. I'm vague on the technical details, but the polarized lenses also claim to repel water, provide UV protection, and resist scratching. All key qualities for outdoor use.
Check out the very complete website for more details and all the options. There are dozens and dozens of styles, colors, frames and lenses. I picked one of the PopH2O models, designed for outdoor water adventure. My only caveat is that you get what you pay for, which, in this case, is a lot.
