GoPro unveiled their newest line of cameras today, the HERO4, which boasts the highest quality video and audio recording capacity in GoPro’s family of products. The line comes in two models, the HERO4 Black and HER04 Silver.
According to GoPro, “the HERO4 Black delivers 2x the performance of its best-selling predecessor and now captures cinema-quality 4K video at 30 frames per second (fps).” The HERO4 Black also features major improvements in its ability to capture slow motion shots: “2.7K video at 50fps and 1080p video at a blistering 120fps.” ($499)
The HERO4 Silver shares upgraded image quality, but does not have the full range of professional features offered by the HERO4 Black. Instead, the Silver features a built-in touch display, making it easier for the user to frame shots and to review video in the field. ($399)
The new line of GoPro cameras will be sold on their website and at select retailers starting October 5.
