What do you get when you combine Scottish musicians, canoes and whiskey? You get the Whiskey River Boat Band, a group of traveling musicians who decided to shuck the tour van and paddle along the River Spey in their boats. The “adventure folk” band rides rapids by day and plays gigs at the pub by night.
“We had this kind of dream of—one day—not being in a van and we thought ‘a canoe, that’s not a van,’ so that’ll do!”
Journalist Paul English joined the band for the final leg of their musical river adventure as seen in the video above.
