Despite low water, cold temperatures, and ever decreasing daylight hours, the Austrian kayaking season doesn’t end abruptly after the Adidas Sickline race wraps up. Local paddlers continue to run the steep and technical rapids of the Ötztaler Ache (Ache means river) late into the fall. Surrounded by the golden fall foliage, these Austrian and German boaters run laps on the sections above the Sickline race as well as the Wellerbrücke rapids themselves.
