A classic race for a classic river, the Moose Race
is a creek racing mainstay. Before winter sets in, kayakers converge in the Western Adirondacks for the annual reservoir drawdown that boosts river levels in the notorious Bottom Moose section. The out of boat “LeMans Start” sends a pack of racers over Agers Falls and down the toughest rapids the Moose River has to offer. The storied race has a rich history and should be on the must-do list for any serious creek racer. Following the Moose River event, the new King of New York is crowned at a race after-party that takes over.
