Rafters on Utah’s San Juan River had taken refuge from a Fourth of July rainstorm under an overhang near their camp, and one of them began filming to pass the time. Suddenly, an enormous flash flood (jump to :55) came barreling around the corner and cut them off from the rest of their gear, turning the side canyon from a dry creek bed to a full-fledged waterfall in a matter of seconds. This video illustrates the danger and beauty of desert storms as well as the raw power of nature. (It also serves as a good reminder to not camp in a drainage.) Enjoy.
