An uncharacteristically dry year in the Pacific Northwest has the rivers running dry when they should just be hitting full swing. A dismal snowpack melted long before a normal season would even start. In early May, depressed locals claimed to find more CFS at the local brew pub, Everybody’s Brewing, than they could in the White Salmon River.
But even a dry year in Washington State can yield amazing days on stunning whitewater. Here are some POV clips from David Spiegel in April and May. Although the season did not last as long as usual and spring massive runoff never came, it’s still tough to beat the PNW.
Locations: Robe Canyon, Tumwater Canyon, Little White Salmon, Icicle Creek.
