New film documents source-to-sea journey down Iran's longest river

In February 2014, Leon McCarron and Tom Allen went to Iran to follow the country’s longest river, the Karun, from source to sea using only human power. Their aim was to explore the culture and the geography of the country, away from the media headlines, and to have a great adventure. To begin with they journeyed on foot, until finally the water level allowed them to inflate their packrafts and set off into the deep-set gorges of the Zagros Mountains. When the once-calm waters of the Karun turned nasty, they began to wonder if they'd bitten off more than they could chew…
