A new series features rivers through the eyes of the locals who paddle them
Five2Nine and NRS have teamed up to offer a glimpse into the rivers of Canada. Part one of the series focuses on the classics of Quebec. They will include the Neilson, Taureau and Magpie Rivers. Each river will be seen through the eyes of the locals that paddle them like no one else can.
“The goal is to show the individuals and the rivers in the diverse landscape that is Canadian whitewater,” says Mike McKay, owner of Five2Nine and director of the film series.
Episode one features Billy Thibault of the St-Raymond area. Thibault is a young paddler, but that doesn’t show when he is on the Neilson. His experience and skill in the 60+ Class IV-V rapids demonstrate a level of paddling that many never achieve in a lifetime.
