Todd Wells and Sam Freihofer run Oregon's Metlako Falls in a two-man kayak

The Wells Brothers, Todd and Brendan, certainly seem to be getting after it in Oregon this month. Two weeks ago they brought you Outlet Falls 2011, and now this… Sam Freihofer and Todd Wells paddling 82-foot Metlako Falls on Eagle Creek, in Oregon—in a two-man kayak. Some clarification from Wells Bros. Productions: “Though they did not both remain in the kayak to officially break Steve Fisher and Anton Immler’s world record, set on 70-foot Middle Palguin in Chile, it was the tallest waterfall run in a two-man kayak and it was most definitely stout.” Indeed. Also, there’s some interesting back-story in the youtube comments that probably don’t warrant calling further attention to here… — Tim Mutrie
