In 2008, while fishing together from a tandem kayak, Kevin and Gareth Uyeda brought in a 194-pound blue marlin, to this day one of the heaviest kayak-caught fish to make it to a scale.

Six years later the pair continues to fish together, an inseparable team wherever they travel, but ultimately so aboard their Hobie Mirage Tandem Island. They’ve still got it. Kayak Fish joined them for a day of fishing off Oahu. It was a little slow – they aren’t accustomed to settling for kawakawa – but still took the time to chat (in unison) about their way of fishing.
