Since the first kayak angler bungee-corded a semi-legally acquired milk crate to the back of his boat in the year 1877 (okay that date was made up, give or take a year), yakers have been growing more creative when it comes to customizing their rigs. Home Depot buckets, Tupperware containers, Ziploc bags, and oh glorious PVC pipe, it runs the gamut to say the least.

This piece from Johnson Outdoors Watercraft pro John ‘Toast’ Oast from Fishyaker.com is more slideshow than video, and it breaks down an astounding 35 items that he found in a dollar store that could be utilized for kayak fishing. Now, some of them are no brainers (zip ties) while others (wigs) are more of a stretch, but there is bound to be a couple gems in there that you might not have ever thought of.

Keeping in mind that outdoorsmen of all kinds like to gab about how they repurpose everyday items into very functional pieces of outdoor equipment, so, have at it. Let us know what you have come up with.
