Sierra Designs Flashlight 2 UL
3 lbs 8 oz.
By Rob Lyon
You’ll find all types on a kayak tour, including those who pack like their boat was a backpack. More power to anyone who can travel featherlight, but a little amenity goes a long way when you’re weathered in. At three-and-a-half pounds, Sierra Designs’s Flashlight 2 UL will appease ounce counters, while the “gear closets” (two small vestibule areas that can be accessed from inside the tent) and eight-inch awning will provide the rudiments of livability. The fly and tent body are attached, making for drier set ups while saving weight. A big front door gives a roomy feel. There are still no free lunches in the gear world but this baby could fool you.
