Temperatures are dropping around the country, but it’s not quite time to pull out the heavy-duty drysuit or dry pants. That’s when the Bomber Gear Blitz Splash Pants can come in handy. As a canoeist, I was pretty stoked on them for long flat-water and mild Class II+ paddles. The 2-ply waterproof material kept the water off and was surprisingly breathable and lightweight so I was dry, but never hot. Both the waist and ankles have secure closures, keeping the water out more effectively than most splash pants, though water does get through the ankles a little bit as to be expected from splash pants. The pants also feature this dual hook-and-loop closure set up, so the pants actually cinch snugly around my 27-inch waist, which further keeps the water from going inside.

Overall:
Great pants for flat-water/light whitewater canoeing, early fall/late spring kayaking or general sea kayaking.
