Boat Book – Scott Canoe / Bluewater Canoes

Each week, we highlight companies in Canoe & Kayak’s 2010 Boat Book. Today, we look at the 2010 designs of Scott Canoe / Bluewater Canoes. Stay tuned next week for more from our Boat Book.

SCOTT CANOE 17′ MISSINAIBI

$1670 in Royalex
L: 17′; W: 36″; 75 lbs.
A fast and nimble, high-volume river tripper: “Last November we had the opportunity to demo the Missinaibi canoe and … WOW. We were really impressed with the volume, ease of tracking on a river, AND maneuverability-all integrated into one canoe. So our decision is now firm, it’s the Missinaibi canoe.”

SCOTT CANOE 17′ PROSPECTOR

$1300 in Fiberglass
L: 16’10″; W: 36″; 70 lbs.
The Prospector 17 is the first choice of experienced wilderness paddlers. It’s ideally suited for rough waters and large loads, while still being quick to maneuver. Its easy ride is ideal for novice and experienced paddlers alike. A true expedition canoe handing all you will find in the deep wilderness.

BLUEWATER CANOE 17′ TRIPPER

$3160 in Golden Brawn
L: 17′; W: 33″; 39 lbs.
With slightly more rocker than most modern canoes, designer Steve Killing has managed to gain back the turning ability found in traditional canoe shapes without sacrificing the speed of the modern hull. The 17-foot Tripper is ideally suited for wilderness trips and is surprisingly easy for experienced solo paddlers.

BLUEWATER CANOE 16’6″ SAUGEEN

$2380 in Kevlar-Lite
L: 16’6″; W: 35″; 43 lbs.
With good reason, this is one of our most popular traditionally shaped canoes. Stable, exhibiting a good balance between tracking and maneuverability, and laminated in our Kevlar-Lite with a ribless construction, this canoe is a de”light” to be carried.

SCOTT CANOE PGS 16

$2495 in Fiberglass
L: 16′; W: 50″; 215 lbs.
The ScottBoat PGS16 has big-boat features without the big-boat storing, towing, launching, operating, loading and maintenance hassles. At a base price of $2495 you simply will not find a better engineered and constructed boat for hunting, fishing or exploring slow-moving rivers and shallow water.
