Video: Montréal en Eau-Vive Begins August 15

Registration now open for the Montreal's Freestyle Throwdown

Montréal en Eau-Vive is an annual 2-day whitewater kayaking event which occurs every August on the Lachine Rapids near downtown Montreal. In addition to pros, junior, and intermediate freestyle competitions, there will also be two SUP (stand-up paddle board) competitions, free intro to kayaking clinics, and a “paddle with the pros” clinic.

REGISTRATION: Registration is online (mtleauvive.ca) starting August 7th until Friday August 14th 2015 at 6pm. There will be a limit of 60 competitors for the pro category so be sure to sign up ASAP.

PROS: $55
JUNIOR FREESTYLE: $20 or $10 for CCKEVM members
INTERMEDIATE FREESTYLE: $20 or $10 for CCKEVM members
SUP [beginner]: $20 or $5 if already registered for Pros, Junior, or Intermediate freestyle
SUP [intermediate]: $20 or $5 if already registered for Pros, Junior, or Intermediate freestyle

DESCRIPTIONS:

PROS: The Pros event consists of a freestyle competition on Mavericks on Saturday with the assistance from jet skis. Competitors obtain 5 rides and the best ride counts. Points are awarded according to the WWGP rules. Sunday is a boatercross down the Rapides de Sainte-Catherine, with a shuttle to and from the rapides using a jetboat provided by Saute-Moutons Jet Boating Montreal. The winner of the category obtains a spot to compete in the 2016 Whitewater Grand Prix.

JUNIOR FREESTYLE: Open for anyone ages 17 and under, it is a freestyle competition on Sunday on either Big Joe or Pyramid Wave (you may decide where you would like to take your rides). Points are awarded according to the ICF rules.

INTERMEDIATE FREESTYLE: Open for anyone ages 18 and over, it is a freestyle competition on Sunday on either Big Joe or Pyramid Wave (you may decide where you would like to take your rides). Points are awarded according to the ICF rules.

SUP [beginner]: Open to all. A race from Vague à Guy down to the KSF basin. Winner takes the registration money for that category.

SUP [advanced]: Open to all. A race from the KSF basin down the left side of the Lachine rapids. Winner takes the registration money for that category.
