January 5th, New Year’s Challenge, Seattle, WA
It’s that time of the year and the Challenge Championship Belts are once again up for grabs! Come and join us on January 5th, 2013 for the Third Annual New Year’s Challenge. Last year we had over 120 competitors come out and compete against outrigger canoes, surf skis, kayaks, standup paddle boards, dragon boats, rowing shells, and many other human powered crafts. January 18-21, The Keys Challenge, Miami, Florida

February 22-24, Sweetwater Kayaks 2013 Symposium, St. Petersburg, FL

March 2, Quietwater Symposium, Lansing, MI

March 2, 4th Annual Battle on the Bayou, Ocean Springs, MS

March 8-10, Canoecopia, Madison, WI
Canoecopia is the world’s largest paddlesport consumer show, hosted by Rutabaga, a paddler-owned business. There are over 120 speakers from all over the world, plus 100,000 sq. ft. of canoes, kayaks, gear, clothing and outdoor equipment, all on sale. March 9-17Ain’t Louie Fest, Lenoir City, TN
Canoeists from all over the U.S., Canada and even Europe get together in East Tennessee to race the Tellico and paddle some of the Southeast’s finest rivers–no matter the level.

March 16, 41st Annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta, Houston, TX

March 15-18, Florida FreeStyle Canoeing Symposium, Yulee, FL
The FFS offers excellent instruction in a quiet water venue for people wishing to improve their skills in paddling and precise control of their canoes. March 16-22, Dam to the Bay Paddle, Bloxham, FL
Experience the Ochlockonee River and primitive north Florida over approximately 76 miles of wilderness river trail while paddling through the Apalachicola National Forest. Ochlokonee adventure begins at Ed and Bernice’s Fish Camp with overnights at Pine Creek Landing, Whitehead Lake, Mack Landing, Womack Creek, and Ochlockonee River State Park. April 12-14, Tallulah Fest, Tallulah Falls, Georgia
Tallulah Fest celebrates the release of the Tallulah Gorge, and donates money to American Whitewater. A weekend of being outside, listening to handmade music, and having a good time. April 18, Charleston Patriot Challenge, Charleston, SC
A kayak, SUP, and canoe race/charity paddle to benefit those men and women who are missing limbs after serving in our armed services. Both courses tart from Brittlebank Park. We have a three-mile course in the protected waters of the Ashley River and a six-mile course that skirts the city shoreline to the yacht club and back. This two day event is based in historic downtown Gig Harbor with event races for Canoes, kayaks, and SUP. The categories of the races are SUP, Sea Kayak and Canoe, Sprint Canoe and Kayak, and para Canoe races. Racs start at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Each day the event will run throughout the day with vendors and booths set up in the park while the raes are taking place. Jerry’s Baddle is a dual sport race that began in 2006 to honor a good friend, Jerry Beckwith, who had been diagnosed with ALS. The race was born out of a desire to keep his spirit and passion alive by raising money to help fight the disease that took his life and to foster the community he loved.

April 28 – 29, Sandy River Showdown, Sandy, OR
On Saturday we will host the “Dam Derby” downriver race from the confluence of the Salmon and Sandy Rivers near Brightwood down to the old Marmot Dam site. Come race your kayak, whitewater canoe, cataraft or paddle raft as you take on the challenge of the Upper Sandy. The race will be a time trial format with competitors launching in one minute intervals. An awards party will be held after the race at site to be determined! April 27-28, French Broad River Classique Canoe and Kayak Race, Asheville, NC
The annual French Broad River Classique Canoe and Kayak Race is a two-day, 34-mile, USCA sanctioned event that is held on the fourth weekend of April near Asheville, NC. May 5, 4th Annual Sweetwater Paddle for the Cure, Tampa, FL
Set against the skyline of downtown Tampa, this kayak and SUP race raises money for cancer research. It includes a five-mile race and two-mile family fun paddle. Kayak and SUP rentals are available. All proceeds will benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. May 10-13, Atlantic Paddle Symposium, Liscomb Mills, Canada
The Atlantic Paddle Symposium is the premier paddling event in Atlantic Canada. Along with the rendezvous, there will bea downriver race Friday evening and a flatwater race on Saturday. As well as a wild Boater-X race and a Whitewater Rodeo. Merrell’s Oyster The Race is the ultimate urban hybrid race, sending teams of 2-6 racers out on a mystery course around the city. Now heading into its 9th season, Oyster is the longest running “urban adventure race” in the USA. The courses can range from 15-30 miles and 3-6 hours, providing an endurance level to suit all apetites. Oyster has an uncanny ability to combine athleticism with thought provoking strategy. While you “may not” get burned or covered in mud, teams can be seen running, biking, kayaking, rock climbing and performing crazy stunts while solving city and sponsor specific clues in a race to the finish line. The South Dakota Kayak Challenge is a marathon-endurance paddling race on the Missouri River. The race length is about 75 miles. Racers will have 30 hours to reach the finish line in Sioux City, Iowa after they leave the start on Saturday at 7 a.m. in Yankton, SD. May 31-June 2, Lyons Outdoor Games, Lyons, CO

June 12-14, Olamau Race, Hawaii

June 20-22, 11th Annual Ohio Riverway Paddlefest, Cincinnati, OH
The largest canoe/kayak paddling event in the Midwest with over 2,200 paddlers making their annual trek down the Ohio River during Paddlefest. It is a celebration dedicated to enjoying the experience of “paddling the Ohio River,” one of Cincinnati’s greatest natural assets. The Boy Scouts of America: Quapaw Area Council is sponsoring on of the most unique, challenging, and fun scouting events in the country. The National Invitational White River Canoe Race will take you down some of the most scenic country in America. The race is an adventure of over a hundred miles from the heart of the Ozark Mountains near Bull Shoals Lake to the foothills of Batesville, AR. This nationally sanctioned event draws participation from regional colleges and universities to St. Cloud, Minnesota to compete in downriver racing on the Mississippi River. The event is intended to promote paddlesports involvement, at all levels, along with the spirit of competition with participating schools. The Mississippi River provides a unique venue for downriver racing along with being arguably one of our most significant national waterways. Come learn more than you thought you could know about kayaking at the LoCo Roundup, held on the scenic and adventurous Columbia River.
