What do you do on a 5,000-mile solo paddle? Talk to yourself.
Jacob Stachovak is in the middle of his 5,000-mile Portage to Portage Paddling Project, a solo kayak expedition around the eastern United States. His adventure links the Mississippi River to the Great Lakes via the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and New York Canal Systems starting and ending in the small town of Portage, Wisconsin (see map). We couldn’t help but ask what one does alone with one’s head on such an insanely-long mission? Here’s the answer.
