Video Update: Gulf-to-Arctic Canoe Crew Has Reached Minnesota River

Expedition team looking forward to first downstream paddle of the trip

When we last heard from the Rediscover North America canoe expedition, they were nearing the end of the Mississippi on their 5,200-mile journey from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean. Now, after a few relaxing days in St. Paul and resupplying on Velveeta for the trip’s second half, they’re paddling up the Minnesota River. The next big milestone: The first downstream section of the trip on the Red River, which will take the crew into Canada.

Check out their latest video update from New Ulm, Minnesota, above, or click here for an overview of their expedition route.
