Expedition Sea Kayaks
What paddler among us has not heard the stories told by well-traveled fellows at slide shows, in saloons, or around the campfire about their paddle trips wandering up the Inside Passage, retracing Steinbeck’s route through the Sea of Cortez, or meandering along the Intracoastal Waterway of the Southeast? Expeditions are these flights of dream come to life. If you’re interested in undertaking a trip any longer than a few days, then it’s an expedition sea kayak you’re after. Expedition kayaks distinguish themselves from their day-touring counterparts by length and carrying capacity. We were loaned seven such expedition kayaks to review. The kayaks weren’t compared to each other, but rather reviewed on their individual merits. Hopefully, you’ll try these kayaks and begin planning your own expedition.
