Canoe & Kayak Recognized at the Eddie & Ozzie 2012 Awards
The June 2012 issue took bronze, and "Fall and Rise" story won silver.
The Canoe & Kayak magazine team won two awards yesterday at the Eddies and Ozzies, the largest awards competition in magazine publishing. Joe Jackson and C&K Editor Jeff Moag shared the silver medal in the Consumer Single Article category for their June 2012 feature story “Fall and Rise,” which documents Jason Craig and Tyler Bradt’s extraordinary recovery from paddling injuries they suffered on the same day in 2011. The magazine also won bronze in the Consumer Full Issue category for the June 2012 issue.
“Fall and Rise” features photography by Reid Morth, Darin McQuoid and Erik Boomer, with layout by C&K Art Director Parker Meek. McQuoid, Cody Howard and C&K Managing Editor Dave Shively also produced a short film, Jason’s Story documenting Craig’s remarkable recovery.
The Eddie and Ozzie Awards is the largest awards competition in magazine publishing, and the only competition to include all magazines and their websites. The Eddies judge magazines for their editorial content, and the Ozzies identify achievement in magazine design.
